The Role
The Director, Partnership Development will report into the SVP, Head of Partnerships and play a leading role in driving national sponsorship revenue across the FlexWork Sports platform. This individual will focus on developing and closing brand partnerships across a wide range of categories, helping position FlexWork Sports as a scalable solution for brands looking to connect with families and youth sports communities nationwide.
This role will be responsible for managing the full sales process from prospecting and category strategy through negotiation and deal execution. The Director will work closely with internal stakeholders to build customized programs that align brand objectives with FlexWork Sports' portfolio of athlete-led camps, events, and experiences.
The ideal candidate is a strategic seller with strong relationship-building skills, experience navigating complex organizations, and a proven ability to generate new business revenue. This person should be comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment and excited about helping grow a rapidly expanding sports platform.
Team Structure
FlexWork Sports operates with a collaborative, team-oriented approach to partnerships and revenue generation. The Director, Partnerships will work cross-functionally with leadership, marketing, operations, and athlete relations teams to develop and execute impactful partnership programs.
While individual sales performance is critical, success within the organization is built around communication, collaboration, accountability, and a willingness to contribute beyond your core responsibilities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Drive new business revenue through the development and sale of national sponsorship partnerships across the FlexWork Sports portfolio
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective brand partners across priority categories
- Lead strategic outreach efforts, including prospecting, relationship development, pitch development, negotiation, and closing
- Develop customized partnership solutions that align with client objectives and deliver measurable value
- Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling proposals, integrated programs, and go-to-market strategies
- Maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing brand partners, agencies, and key industry contacts
- Track sales activity, pipeline progression, and forecasting within CRM systems
- Stay informed on sponsorship, sports marketing, and consumer trends to identify new business opportunities
- Support broader department initiatives and contribute to the continued growth of the partnerships team
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in sponsorship sales, brand partnerships, sports marketing, or related fields
- Proven track record generating new business revenue and closing meaningful partnership deals
- Strong understanding of the sports and entertainment sponsorship landscape, including integrated marketing programs and branded experiences
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- Ability to manage multiple sales cycles simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive and team-oriented approach
- Experience working with brands, agencies, or sports properties preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Willingness to travel for client meetings, events, and industry conferences
